Of course you can have sex when you’re having your period. Some women have increased sexual desire during menstruation, others have less. The risk of infection is slightly higher during your period so it might be a good idea to use a condom, even if you don’t normally use one. In some cultures, women are considered unclean when they are having their period and do not have sex at this time. If you have unprotected sex, the chances of getting pregnant are considerably lower, but there is always a very slight risk.
